What's new in the GradLeaders Career Center accessibility update?

We made some significant enhancements to the GradLeaders Career Center student and employer interface this month, but the average user may not notice.

So what's new?

The GradLeaders Career Center student and employer interface is compliant with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards! We spent a significant portion of our recent development efforts on this update, not just because it's the law, but because it's the right thing to do. As the education world becomes increasingly digitized, all of us in the space need to do everything we can to ensure that those with disabilities do not face additional barriers due to inaccessible materials and systems.

For abled users, the accessibility enhancements in our application may not be noticeable. For those using adaptive tools like screen readers, the enhancements will provide a better user experience.

Most of the changes happened in the code, to things like hierarchy of content, spacing, color contrast, etc. The result is a minimal change in appearance for everyday users, and a significant improvement in usage for disabled users.
