Compare Student Job Offer Salary and Other Compensation by School, Industry, Function, Location and More

Often times, students will receive offers from potential employers and have no idea if they’re being fairly compensated. A quick Google search will provide generic data on average salaries for general job titles. But how do you know if students like you earn more or less? And how does it vary by school, degree, industry, function, and geographic region? GradLeaders can help! GradLeaders provides career center staff and job-seeking students with a helpful tool to research potential compensation based on historical employment data at your school or across our entire network of schools. Students and career center staff can quickly enter offers and create comparisons based on a variety of parameters, including:

  • Company Industry
  • Job Function
  • Geographic Region
  • Years of Experience
  • Citizenship Status
  • Educational Concentration
  • Job Offer Source

Recent updates to our Offer Comparison Tool now also give users an option to dive deeper into “other compensation” beyond annual salary including:

  • Signing/Starting Bonus
  • Guaranteed Bonus
  • Variable Performance
  • Relation/Moving Expenses
  • Housing
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Stock Options
  • Profit Charing

Here’s how it works. Students (or career center staff) start by reporting the offer information within their GradLeaders Career Center portal. Upon submission, users will be prompted to “Compare Offers.” Within the Offer Comparison Tool, users can add additional criteria to create a detailed comparison and choose whether to compare offers just at their school or across the GradLeaders school network. Users can toggle between a table view or chart view for easy-to-read data visualizations. Results will not only show average compensation, min/max and median but also the total number of comparable offers over time. Users can even see offers by month to see when offers are typically submitted during the year.  It’s a handy tool that can not only provide insights during job offer season but also help students find insights to aid them in the career development process.
